Hiking: Washington Park Arboretum

One of my favorite walks in the Seattle is the Washington Park Arboretum. It's an easy stroll through some of the nicest botanical gardens in the city. It is a wonderful urban green space containing the nation's largest collection of Maple trees. Each section of the park contains s lovely landscaped garden of particular plant species, such as Rhododendrons, Witch Hazel, Japanese Maples, and more.

Explore the botanical gardens of the Washington Park Arboretum, visiting one of the largest collections of Maple trees in the United States and a beautiful wetland habitat tucked into Union Bay.

I find myself in Portland a handful of times a year to visit family and friends. One of the places that I've always wanted to visit was Forest Park. It's name is appropriate given that it is over twenty miles long and completely forested. There are a number of trail heads and offshoots from the primary trail named the Wildwood Trail.

Within Portland's over 4 thousand acre Forest Park lies a trail loop named "Avenue of the Trees", a nice afternoon hike without the commitment.

Hawai'i is a great escape for those who love outdoor activity. Every day was filled with the exploration of little hideaways, nooks, vistas and other sweet spots. For any activity you can think of, there are about a dozen outfitters who claim to have the best prices and most experienced guides. While the competition likely keeps them all honest, I found that renting the gear was the best. For one, paying the price of a guide for every day youâ€™re there gets expensive.
