My Daemon and I

Following Meg's lead, I took the test of 20 personality questions on the Golden Compass Web site to find out who my daemon was. A daemon, for the uninitiated, is sort of like your external soul with a personality of it's own. It always takes the form of an animal and is of opposing gender. My daemon is apparently a lioness named Artemis. I have a feeling that she and I could make a great team.

I have read 2 of the 3 books in the His Dark Materials trilogy and was captivated. It references the occult very heavily and sheds a seemingly negative light on the Catholic Church (which was apparently removed from the movie). I would note that it doesn't really state anywhere that the church is bad, but rather that they fear any revelation of truth that contradicts the belief which they disseminate. It will be interesting to see how this movie is created without acknowledging that piece of the story.
