Wallingford Playground
One of the absolute best playgrounds in Seattle is undoubtedly the Wallingford playground. This place has the hookup, with at least three things that make it super. It's safe, beautiful, and within three blocks of 45th street and about 2 blocks north of the Wallingford center (four things), where there are cupcakes. No matter how bad you need a cupcake, It is highly recommended to stroll (no running) through the neighborhoods, where well-kept yards are earthy and lush.
I'm not sure I could say which is the best piece of equipment at this playground. It's a TimberForm/PipeLine set with wide risers and tall ceilings for active parents to engage. As you approach the play area, you will be looking at the 'Arc'. This set of monkey bars is built to climb over, under, or through. It's a ship, a castle, a hideout, a cave, a mountain... it's nuts how fun it is! Adjacent to the Arc is the circular monkey bar - monkey as long as you like, or forever if that's how you swing. It has a digger... that works! If you've been around Seattle playgrounds, you've likely encountered a digger in some state of sad disrepair, but not this one.
The equipment area overlooks a sunken play field and sits adjacent to bathrooms and a picnic area with an aesthetically pleasing semi-circle bench. The play area has recycled rubber walkways and the structure has a mountain of the same material that the kids can bounce off of. Little climbers love this spot.
