Wallingford Playground

One of the absolute best playgrounds in Seattle is undoubtedly the Wallingford playground. This place has the hookup, with at least three things that make it super. It's safe, beautiful, and within three blocks of 45th street and about 2 blocks north of the Wallingford center (four things), where there are cupcakes. No matter how bad you need a cupcake, It is highly recommended to stroll (no running) through the neighborhoods, where well-kept yards are earthy and lush.

Victory Heights Playground

Victory Heights is quite lovely - a little glen with a field tucked away in a quaint and walkable neighborhood. It contains a tennis court in excellent condition and also a pre-school. This isn't the coolest playground I've been to in terms of the equipment. It is nonetheless passable with all the basics - swings, merry-go-round, sandbox, basketball half-court, and a small wooden (Natural Structures) play gym .

Friends of Annie Playground (Meadowbrook)

Nestled between Nathan Hale HS and the Meadowbrook public pool is the Friends of Annie playground... a must-visit location. The history of it's namesake is a tragic one. Annie Yasuda passed away unexplainably in 2001. In memory of Annie's love of playgrounds, the Yasuda family raised funds in 2004 and contributed to improving the rotting and rusty playground that previously existed in that spot.
